WARNING! The following contains a lot of technical jargon so don't hesitate to ask us if you want anything clarified....

We will transfer home movies (unedited 'raw' footage) from your VHS, SVHS, VHS-C, Video-8, Hi8, or MiniDV camcorder tapes onto CD-ROM or DVD-ROM in either standard MPEG or AVI movie files for archive storage, or convert them into the following formats: DVD-Video, RealMedia (RM), Windows Media Video (WMV), VCD, or SVCD.

Please note: video quality, or 'bitrate' will be agreed in advance according to the number of blank media you want to use (and therefore pay for). As a rough guide, you can fit up to one hour of high quality DVD-Video onto a standard 4.7GB DVD-R recordable disk and more or less at a greater or lesser quality. These are suitable for playing onto a television with any household DVD player. For viewing on a PC computer only, several hours of lower quality video in the  'internet friendly' digital formats will fit onto a single DVD-R.

We will also transfer photographs, 35mm slides, or 35mm negatives. Please see our Digital Albums pages for more options.

Please note: prices for movie transfers vary widely according to the source material, the length of footage you want transferred, and to what degree of quality you want it archived. For this reason it is best to Contact us for an estimate, giving precise details of how many tapes you have, of what type and length, and which destination format(s) you require.
